While working on a new or existing project, it is highly likely that you will be required to change the original plan or scope of work – often to facilitate a new direction or overcome challenges related to a project’s outcomes and benefits. To ensure a project runs smoothly, it is essential to understand the many factors that can drive changes to scope, such as evolving project requirements, budgets and stakeholder expectations to wider strategic, regulatory or societal influences.  

This digital course introduces the essential time-cost-quality triangle and how it shapes a project’s scope. It highlights the importance of understanding stakeholder and customer priorities and explores how unplanned changes can impact delivery is not properly managed.  

By the end of the course, participants will understand the relationship between scope, time, cost, and quality, and the principles that support effective change control. Participants will also be able to understand factors that influence scope during delivery and apply practical steps to manage change responsibly. 

This is a part of a suite of five courses, designed to provide non-specialists with an introduction to the fundamentals of successful project management. The courses include Project Scope and Change Control, Project Planning, Managing Project Risk, Outcomes and Benefits and Stakeholder Engagement.
