Overview
Off the shelf (OTS)
This 6-hour course is designed to provide learners with an understanding of Regenerative Braking Systems and provide the knowledge of how and why hybrid and electric vehicles convert the energy of motion into electrical energy when the brakes are applied and how that energy is stored through regenerative braking system.
The course covers the following areas:
• The difference between motors and generators
• What is regenerative braking?
• Energy loss – combustion engines V’s EV
• Types of regenerative braking systems
• Energy storage systems
• Brake boosters – combustion engine and EV
• Controlling regeneration
• Service and maintenance on braking systems with and without regenerative braking
• Testing EV’s on brake rollers
The course is suitable for anyone requiring a knowledge of the systems when working with hybrid and electric vehicles.
