This product is not available via the Learning Frameworks service after 31 December 2025. We suggest bookings are made six weeks before the start date of the learning, so by 19 November 2025.
The contract that facilitates this service ends on 30 April 2026. Because of this, there will be some changes to the learning available to book. We expect that you will be able to book this product again once the new contract is live.

This Legionella Awareness course is designed to equip you with essential knowledge about Legionella bacteria, its risks, and effective control measures. Legionella can pose serious health risks, including Legionnaires' disease, particularly when it grows in poorly managed water systems. Understanding how to manage these systems and prevent outbreaks is crucial to ensuring safety in various environments.
Throughout this course, you will learn about the symptoms of Legionella-related illnesses, how the bacteria are transmitted, and the legal responsibilities for maintaining water hygiene. We will also explore key prevention strategies, including risk assessments, temperature control, regular cleaning and maintenance, and methods to reduce the risk of both Legionella and scalding.
By the end of the course, you will have the knowledge and confidence to effectively manage water systems, reducing the risk of Legionella outbreaks and ensuring a safe environment.

To raise awareness of the legal responsibilities, risks, and control measures for Legionella, as well as the prevention of scalding incidents, ensuring the safety and compliance of water systems in various environments.
