Overview

Off the shelf (OTS)

The world of legislating involves understanding parliament, its language and norms, as well as those parts of the civil service which interact with it. The process around draft legislation - ‘bill management’ - is one the most demanding and fast paced roles undertaken at a relatively junior level in the civil service.

Those working on bills require adept project leadership, relationship management and communication skills and this course combines both technical knowledge and skills development. Learners will come away with a credible understanding of this specialised world and will have an improved capacity to handle the pressure which accompanies such roles.
