Overview
Off the shelf (OTS)
Updated in 2022 to reflect the challenges of today’s Civil Service and feedback from earlier programme participants, this eight-month, Advanced Practitioner programme builds on the flagship OD&D Core Practice Programme or those with relevant experience and understanding of OD&D at Practitioner level.
The step up from Practitioner to Advanced level in OD&D can be summarised as:
- The depth of reflexive capability practitioners apply to their practice and to their client work.
- The authority and credibility OD&D practitioners demonstrate when working with clients across the Civil Service.
- An ability to lead on major pieces of OD&D outside their own department and in systems-level complex contexts.
- The first and the last day of the programme take place face to face in London. In between, learning is facilitated virtually through a mix of taught modules, Action Learning Sets, webinars, real-world challenges and self-study.
The programme is supported by a range of online collaboration tools including Zoom, Mural and a dedicated Virtual Learning Environment. Participants typically report that the most powerful learning comes from working with real issues and reflecting on these with a group of committed peers from across the Civil Service.
Having successfully completed the programme, participants are invited to become role models within the Civil Service’s powerful community of OD&D practitioners and may choose to continue their journey towards being considered Experts within the fields of Organisation Development and Design.
The programme is accredited with the University of Chichester and offers 40 credits at Post-Graduate Level 7. Completing this and the Core Practice Programme offers a Post Graduate Certificate in People and Organisation Development. A recognition of prior learning and experience process is available for those who have not completed the Core Practice Programme and who wish to claim the Post Graduate Certificate.
