Overview
Off the shelf (OTS)
This programme of 1-1 face-to-face supervision is offered as a minimum package of 4 sessions, with an option for purchasing more (in bundles of 2) Sessions will be 90 - 120 minutes long. Supervisees should be working or expert level and this programme will support professional growth ensuring effective practice and system impact. Participants being guided to develop one or more Practice-Based Learning Questions (PBLQs) to drive ongoing inquiry and development in their own context.
The approach to the supervision is underpinned by the following principles:
•Focusing practice development on practical delivery – doing real work in the service of learning to practice
•Offering a space for reflexivity and enabling practice depth
•Delivering impact through the use of self as an instrument
•Keeping the needs of wider stakeholders in the picture
•Bringing in theory in the service of making a difference across the system
Objectives
These will be finessed in session 1 between the supervisor and supervisee and are likely to include:
1) Defining and refining their practice strengths, challenges and offer to the field
2) Working through a current client piece of work with a focus on experimentation in new ways of practice, theoretical perspectives and critical reflection
3) Clarifying the current context for practice and what this means for day-to-day delivery and development
4) Developing strategies to influence the strategic agenda in their department and wider system.
5) Formulating and working through at least one Practice-Based Learning Questions (PBLQ) by the end of the programme that directly addresses a challenge or opportunity in their own area of practice.
6)Supporting the emotional labour and impact on wellbeing of OD&D work in a system where relational work is often systemically underrecognised
