Overview
Off the shelf (OTS)
This one-day training course provides delegates with the skills necessary to write/take an effective witness statement. Much of the evidence that can be given to a court, or tribunal will come from witnesses (or the victim). This training looks at how these witnesses can be interviewed in a structured way using the Nationally recognised PEACE investigation model and, how the information obtained can then be used to write a witness statement containing the relevant evidence. The course also provides the opportunity for feedback on the statement.
This course would be suitable for anyone involved in investigative interviewing where they are required to write a victim or witness statement containing relevant evidence.
Learning Objectives:
1) State the reasons for writing a witness statement
2) Identify a simple statement form and its contents
