Overview
Off the shelf (OTS)
This five-day course is aimed at officers and staff working towards or operating at PIP2 level who are responsible for interviewing witnesses and victims in serious and complex crime investigations.
The course focuses on advanced interview planning, the application of the PEACE model, and techniques to obtain accurate, detailed, and reliable accounts in often challenging and emotionally complex cases. Delegates will develop practical skills for building rapport, exploring witness memory, dealing with trauma or vulnerability, and ensuring legal compliance throughout the interview process.
Using realistic case scenarios and structured feedback, this course helps delegates build confidence and competence in conducting effective, ethical, and evidentially robust interviews that support the wider investigative strategy.
