Overview
Off the shelf (OTS)
This session will give individual contributors and team members the skills and confidence to contribute to a psychologically safe and inclusive workplace.
The session will explore what psychological safety is, and what it is not, and highlight the value of constructive dissent and the importance of creating space for different viewpoints, even when they challenge the status quo. We will share case studies and will explore how biases such as groupthink and the pressure to conform can undermine innovation, suppress diverse perspectives, and reinforce bias.
Participants will also examine their own biases and their responses to difficult conversations and how these may affect team dynamics. We will show individuals to use their voice and influence to support others, challenge exclusionary behaviours, model healthy debate and feedback discussions and help create a culture where everyone feels respected, valued, and heard.
