Timings
This six-week programme includes five live, three-hour workshops delivered via Microsoft Teams. With additional study, team coaching practice, and assignments, the total learning commitment is approximately 50 hours.
Programme Purpose
This course offers a practical and theoretical foundation in team coaching for qualified coaches seeking to work with teams. It equips participants to begin facilitating team coaching engagements—helping teams define their shared purpose, build alignment, and agree ways of working. The course also forms the first stage of the Certificate in Team Coaching and leads to EMCC Foundation-level accreditation.
Who Should Attend?
• Qualified coaches seeking to expand into team coaching
• 100+ hours of one-to-one coaching experience
• EMCC Practitioner accreditation (Level 5) or equivalent (bridging available)
• Some experience in group or team facilitation is recommended
Format
• Five live, 3-hour workshops via Microsoft Teams
• 12 hours of applied team coaching practice
• Structured assignments including quizzes, reflective journals, and discussion posts
• One 2,000-word written assignment
• Pre-work and recorded video input before each session
Session Overview
Session 1 – Programme Launch: Key principles, definitions, and the team coaching journey
Session 2 – Team Coaching in Practice: Co-coaching, team purpose, and working agreements
Session 3 – Creating Psychological Safety: Diagnostics and working with blocked teams
Session 4 – The Team as a System: Systems thinking, diversity, and managing endings
Session 5 – Practising Professionally: Signature style, ethics, and professional standards
Programme Award
This programme is accredited by EMCC Global and has been awarded the Team Coaching Quality Award (TCQA – Foundation Level).
Individual Accreditation
Successful graduates are eligible for EMCC Individual Team Coach Accreditation (ITCA) at Foundation level (subject to EMCC membership).
Eligibility
Team coaching is recognised as an advanced area of practice. Applicants must be experienced coaches and should already hold, or be prepared to obtain, EMCC Practitioner-level accreditation.
