A Team Coaching Accreditation Programme for Experienced Leaders and Coaches
Programme Purpose
•The purpose of this course is for you to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to act as a team coach, for intact teams within your organisation or in other departments.
Who should Attend this Programme?
•This program is designed for practicing coaches who wish to expand their range of competence into the field of team coaching.
•Ideally, you will have at least 100 hours of coaching practice experience and be accredited at EMCC Practitioner (Level 5) or above.
•Prior experience as a facilitator of teams or groups is also recommended.
Throughout the course, you will attend 10 x 3-hour live and interactive online training sessions. In addition to this, you will collect 15 x team coaching practice hours via 5 x 3-hour real-life team coaching sessions. Homework assignments will include reading, pre-work, reflective journals, online quizzes, a self-assessment exercise and a 2000-word essay including a case study.
The Ten-module Programme
Session 1. Programme Launch
Welcoming you to the programme and introducing team coaching definitions, models and processes.
Session 2. Designing the Team Coaching Journey
A detailed outline of the team coaching pathway starting with discovery and design, including the use of team diagnostics and looking at essential team coaching skills and behaviours.
Session 3. Preparing for the First Session
Planning the first session in detail, including contracting with the team and focusing on clarifying team purpose.
Session 4. Maintaining Momentum
We debrief your first team coaching meeting, and plan for the next. In-depth examination of team-charters and focusing on team Ways of Working.
Session 5. Psychological Safety
Observing, understanding and working with team dynamics. What makes a team dysfunctional - or high performing? Breaking through ‘artificial harmony and enabling ‘healthy conflict’.
Session 6. Team Coaching Supervision
Live supervision exercise/demo – reflecting on practice together. Use of Self as Instrument: using your own awareness and intuition. Working with the team in an ‘emergent’ way.
Session 7. Managing Endings.
Designing the final session. Closing down this stage of the relationship with the team. Planning a review conversation with the team leader and preparing them to continue coaching the team.
Session 8. Beyond Team Coaching.
Reflecting on the learning journey as a whole and looking ahead. Debriefing the final practice sessions. Developing your team coaching practice. Creating a resource library of team coaching tools.
Session 9. Your Team Coaching Model.
This is your opportunity to share a summary of your individualised team coaching approach and working model with each other. What is your unique style and identity as a team coach?
Session 10. Practicing Professionally.
Revisiting the foundations of professional practice. Ethics, contracting, supervision, CPD, log-keeping, accreditation. Course wrap-up, personal commitments and farewells.
Professional Accreditation
This programme has been assessed by the coaching body, EMCC Global, and has been given the TCQA award, enabling graduates to gain accreditation as a practitioner level team coach (Level 5) with EMCC on completion.
