Overview

Off the shelf (OTS)

1) Target Audience
This course is designed for software developers, software architects, project managers, and IT professionals who want to build fully customised AI applications using a pro-code approach with Microsoft Azure AI services and Azure OpenAI. It is suited to technically proficient delegates who need to go beyond the constraints of low-code tools and pre-defined agents.

2) Pre-requisites
Some experience with software development concepts is required. Code examples and exercises are provided in Python; prior Python experience is beneficial but not essential, as all examples are fully illustrated during the course.

3) Course Description
This course covers how to develop AI applications using Microsoft Azure AI services, Azure OpenAI, and related Microsoft SDKs. Delegates move beyond low-code limitations to build custom AI solutions that integrate directly into their own development projects — spanning natural language processing, image analysis, knowledge mining, and document intelligence.

4) Objectives / Topic Areas
• Developing natural language processing solutions using Azure AI services and related SDKs
• Developing image processing solutions using Azure AI services
• Building generative AI solutions using Azure OpenAI and related SDKs
• Developing knowledge mining solutions using Azure AI Search
• Building document intelligence solutions using Microsoft Foundry's Content Understanding

5) Delivery Format
Delivered over two days (14 hours in total, 7 hours per day) via virtual instructor-led sessions using Microsoft Teams or Zoom, with interactive labs and hands-on exercises throughout. Code samples and snippets in Python are provided for delegates to copy, test, and experiment with. The development environment used is Visual Studio Code.
