The Analytics in Power BI: ICAEW Certificate empowers finance professionals to move beyond traditional reporting and unlock the full potential of data. Through practical, hands-on learning, you’ll develop the analytical skills to enhance forecasting, financial modelling, and performance reporting - all within Power BI.
Developed in partnership with ICAEW experts and Kaplan’s learning specialists, the course focuses on immediate application. From the very first unit, you'll be working directly in Power BI with real-world scenarios designed to bring concepts to life and deliver value straight back to your role.
Course content:
Unit 1: Context and Concepts
Build a strong foundation in data analytics by exploring key terminology, the core elements of Power BI, and common scenarios where finance professionals can apply data-driven thinking.
Unit 2: Data Preparation & Transformation
Learn how to import, clean, and transform data in Power BI. You'll establish relationships between datasets, resolve data quality issues, and apply transformation logic to prepare data for analysis.
Unit 3: Developing Reports
Start building insightful reports and interactive dashboards using Power BI’s visualisation tools. Complexity increases gradually to help you develop confidence and capability.
Unit 4: Presenting Data Effectively
Discover how to tailor insights for different audiences using visual storytelling. You'll explore best practices for layout, clarity, and communication within Power BI reports.
Successful completion of this course requires access an external online assessment. The online assessment platform may not be accessible from Civil Service department IT due to security restrictions.
