Overview

Off the shelf (OTS)

This course is designed for developers, analysts, IT professionals, and business stakeholders who are looking to understand the core concepts and technologies underpinning artificial intelligence. It is ideal for those new to AI or seeking to build a strong foundation before progressing to more advanced AI development or implementation work.

No prior experience with AI or machine learning is required. A general understanding of programming or data analysis is helpful but not essential.

The AI Foundations Training Course introduces participants to the essential principles of artificial intelligence, covering the historical context, major subfields, and practical applications of AI in modern organisations. Participants will learn how AI systems are developed and deployed, explore ethical and governance considerations, and gain familiarity with fundamental techniques such as supervised learning, neural networks, and natural language processing. The course includes interactive sessions and practical demonstrations to reinforce theoretical knowledge.

Key Topics Covered:
• Introduction to AI and its key subfields (machine learning, NLP, robotics, etc.)
• Overview of supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning
• Neural networks and basic deep learning principles
• Use cases of AI in business, industry, and society
• Ethical considerations, bias, and responsible AI governance
• Tools and platforms for AI development and experimentation
