Overview
Off the shelf (OTS)
AI for Changemakers: Leading the Change is a practical programme for civil servants who are shaping how AI is used across government. Typical participants include Change and Transformation leaders and professionals in Organisation Development and Design or Strategy. The progarmme helps participants build the confidence, capability and culture needed to integrate AI into real change work. The focus is not on coding or technical tricks, but on understanding AI’s potential, its limits, and the conditions that make responsible adoption possible.
Across two full-day workshops and three online two hour guided sprints, participants work with live use cases from their own roles. They design and run small AI experiments that generate insight, improve collaboration and support better decision-making. The programme centres on the human side of AI: how to weave AI into team routines, keep judgment and ethics in the loop and build trust and psychological safety as AI becomes part of everyday practice.
Participants explore how AI is reshaping public-sector culture and leadership—how it shifts the balance between human decision-making and machine support, and how to make sure AI strengthens, rather than weakens, inclusion, fairness, creativity and accountability. Using AI tools directly in the room helps participants understand what these systems can do, where they fall short and how to spot cultural or ethical tensions early.
A core part of the programme is the creation of communities of practice across departments. These small networks share learning, test ideas and support each other to scale insight responsibly. They help organisations move from isolated pilots to more confident, ethical and joined-up approaches to AI.
By the end of the programme, participants will have hands-on experience of running AI sprints, reviewing prototypes, advising leaders and building the cultural foundations needed for sustainable AI-enabled change.
