Overview

Off the shelf (OTS)

Appeals often involve C-suite executives who may have little involvement with ER issues and who may find it hard to scrutinise the decisions made by managers and adopt an impartial and fair position. The person chairing the appeal will have had no involvement with any stage of the procedure leading up to the appeal stage, so they need to understand their role and its limits. There is also an ILM endorsed version of this learning.
