Overview
Off the Shelf (OTS)
Writing is an important skill for roles across grades in the Civil Service, but particularly for senior leaders. Senior civil servants set the standard for good writing both explicitly, by sharing guidance on best practices, and implicitly, by exemplifying these best practices in their own written communication.
This virtual masterclass will enable senior leaders in government to drive better outcomes in their teams by promoting a culture of clear and concise writing. It will feature an expert presentation with room for discussion, followed by a skill-sharing session for attendees to discuss real-life challenges with senior peers. It will also include a series of classroom activities to work through specific examples and case studies.
Attendees will leave the masterclass feeling empowered to write for a broad range of purposes and audiences. They will also feel confident in enabling those in their team to do the same.
To supplement this learning, all attendees will also receive lifetime access to the Advance Your Writing in Government course, which gives further guidance on writing clearly and concisely, and with a specific purpose and audience.
