Cross Civil Service

Working in public policy within the Civil Service means working with government ministers and advisers to make decisions that will affect the lives of people around the country. This digital course will provide you with the essential knowledge needed to make sense of the policy landscape, exploring what policy is, how it’s developed and what policy makers do.

It will introduce you to some of the issues policy professionals need to consider when formulating policy recommendations and when planning and implementing their proposals. You’ll also come to understand what decision-makers need from policy advice, what expectations senior decision-makers have and how your advice is used.
