Overview
Cross Civil Service
In recent years, more and more powers have been transferred from the UK Parliament to the assemblies in Wales and Northern Ireland and the Scottish Parliament. As a result, all policy professionals need to be aware of how devolution affects the policies they work on and the services they deliver.
This course has been designed to show how the Civil Service supports multiple governments in the UK. As part of this, you’ll explore the arrangements for devolution in the UK, including the role of the devolved administrations and devolved legislatures, the difference between reserved and devolved powers and the asymmetrical nature of devolution.
