Overview
Cross Civil ServiceÂ
Safeguarding is a vital process that protects children, young people, adults and the unborn from harm, abuse and neglect. It also serves to promote inclusivity, to prevent crime and exploitation and to foster trust. With robust safeguarding measures in place, we can deliver public services in a way that protects all the people we come into contact with. That’s why it’s so important that all civil servants can recognise the signs of a possible safeguarding issue and be confident in knowing how to respond appropriately.
This course is designed to improve awareness of safeguarding roles and responsibilities across the Civil Service. At an individual level, this means helping people to understand what they need to do to ensure other people’s safety and wellbeing by identifying situations where this could be at risk. This will help departments make sure that appropriate actions are taken by their team(s) if any safeguarding concerns arise.
