Overview

Off the shelf (OTS)

This interactive 2x 0.5 days foundation level virtual course is aimed at cross government staff wishing to be engaged in negotiations or diplomacy. It will give participants basic Negotiating and Diplomatic knowledge including:

- the world of diplomacy and trade negotiation’s place within it
- how the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and its overseas network operates
- understanding how to engage with key internal stakeholders involved in negotiations and how to manage these relationships.
- key issues involved in working with and in other countries
- Tools of analysis and how to use them
- Two short virtual exercises including Stakeholder, SWAT, Pressure mapping

The course includes short seminars on overall view of department’s own objectives, priorities and organisation in trade negotiation -
Each department will need to provide a speaker who can cover the above topics for their department. We will be happy to give guidelines on what should be covered.
If this is not possible, we will speak to the booker about the best alternative.
