Overview

Off the shelf (OTS)

This course is for individuals with some experience of decision-making who want to go deeper into critical thinking tools and practice.

The course can be delivered as a 1-day workshop (in-person) or a 7-hour virtual session. Optional online learning support is available.

A practical course that builds on essential critical thinking skills, offering deeper exploration and extended practice. Participants will apply models to realistic situations and work with tools that support robust, inclusive decisions.

Topics include
• Thinking styles and patterns
• The critical thinking cycle
• Common pitfalls (e.g. groupthink, confirmation bias)
• Creating a constructive thinking environment
• Tools like 6 Hats, Fishbone, 5 Whys, and Thinking Councils
