Overview
Off the shelf (OTS)
This course is for individuals who make decisions or evaluate information and want to improve their thinking and judgement skills.
The course can be delivered as a half-day workshop (in-person) or as a 3-hour virtual session. Optional online learning support is available.
This course introduces key principles and models of critical thinking and decision-making. Participants explore how to evaluate information, weigh options, and choose a sound course of action. The session also looks at common thinking traps and how to overcome them.
Topics include
• Different types of thinking (analytical, intuitive, etc.)
• Barriers to effective decision-making
• The steps of a critical thinking process
• Core skills and behaviours of critical thinkers
• Tools to assess information and solve problems
