Overview

🕮 Cross Civil Service

Feeling comfortable when managing people with disabilities or mental health conditions will not come easily to all managers. Being unsure how to act or feeling uncertain about having the ‘right’ answers can lead to a loss of managerial confidence. In turn, that can result in an ineffective relationship between manager and team member.

Featuring a half-day workshop, this course provides practical advice on how best to manage team members with disabilities. You’ll learn about the value of emotional intelligence, active listening, self-disclosure and paying attention to what really matters to the individual. You’ll consider what an inclusive management approach looks, sounds and feels like, as well as the behaviours that can enable or impede that approach.
