Overview

Cross Civil Service

Lead negotiators hold the significant responsibility of representing the UK externally and communicating UK positions effectively with other countries, whether bilaterally or within international organisations. For civil servants in such roles, this course has been designed to provide a practical understanding of the contexts, dynamics, challenges and techniques of bilateral and multilateral negotiation.

You’ll examine a range of negotiating styles and techniques, exploring the dynamics and challenges of negotiation and the skills required for successful negotiation. There’s also the chance to practise influencing and negotiating techniques in real life contexts as well as negotiating as part of an interdepartmental team.

Please refer to the course flyer for a full description of the learning.
